U.S. government announces new "Fud Stamps" program.

The U.S. government has announced that due to the rising cost of food, it will be phasing out the food stamps program in favor of a new "Fud Stamps" program. Under the new program, any citizen who does not have enough money to buy food will be able to go to a dispensing machine a receive "Fud", a synthetic paste that contains an ample balance of nutrients sufficient to sustain human life. These machines will also be available in times of disaster to prevent mass starvation. Although Fud is not considered as food by the USDA, hence the name, and cannot legally be sold as food, this is not an issue because it will not be sold, but given away for free. The new system will make fraudulent applications a thing of the past, because "nobody would eat Fud if they had anything else to eat".
