3.1: "What? Oh, nothing at all. Actually, my story begins in India, the year before you were born. A marvelous land, India is. It is little known, but there, some of the gods still walk the earth disguised as mortals. I did a kindness to one of them, and he gave me a talisman as a reward. The talisman makes it's wearer stronger than any other living mortal, but he warned me that if I ever boasted of my strength, my head would become that of a horse. And for many years I managed to avoid this fate, but one day, last summer, I became so drunk that I stood on a bar room table and began to boast. First, of my beauty. Then, of my great wealth. Then of my skill at playing backgammon. And finally, fatally, I boasted of my strength. And this is the result!" He said, tapping his head.
"That story wasn't very long." You say.
"No, but the one I had begun telling you is."
