19.2: The boy walked toward the music. As he walked, the forest began to become brighter, as though day was starting to break, but when he looked back, it was darker than ever. Finally, he came to a clearing filled with an unearthly blue glow. The trees were wearing there twilight colors, but shone as brightly as daylight. The sky above was filled with dancing lights, like giant rainbow fireflies. At the center was the source of all this radiance, so bright the boy could not bear to look at it directly, but by continuous small glimpses he began to make out it's basic form. It was a tall figure, nearly twice as tall as the boy. It's legs where curved backwards like the hind legs of a goat, and it seemed to have leaves growing out of it's body. On the top of it's head where two horns, or perhaps branches, and it's beard seemed to be made of moss. It was playing a pipe of reeds, but each blow produced many more sounds than should be possible. I cannot even attempt to describe the music. But if you ever hear strange melodies, and must either run away until you can run no more, or dance until you can dance no more, than that surely must be it. And then he spoke.

His voice was like the sounds of an ancient primordial forest, and yet so vast and deep it shook the boys entire body, and at the same time full of sly humor.

"I swallowed the moon." He said. "Every night I took another bite; I couldn't help myself! But they'll make another one, my little lovelies, they always do."

"That's why you're so bright!" Said the boy.

"Yes indeed! Now I'm too full of moonbeams, and they're all escaping. And they will gather them up and make another moon, for me to eat! They're such weethearts. But we shall have plenty of time to discuss all these things."

"We will?"

"Of course. Because you shall come away with me, and join my merry band, and see uncounted wonders in the worlds above and below. That's what you want, isn't it?"

But the horned god's question needs no answer, for the boy was never seen again by mortal eyes.
